Frequently Asked Questions

How much data do I need to get started?

We've proven the model works with 500+ historical pursuits — enough to spot real patterns in your win/loss history, your profitability drivers, and your team performance. Most mid-size general contractors with several years of bidding history have more than enough data to train an accurate model.

What data do you need from us?

Your project history — project details, bid amounts, win/loss outcomes, and final project margins. PM assignments and subcontractor data enable our decision support capabilities — helping you optimize team composition and partner selection for each pursuit. The more data you have, the sharper the model.

Is my data secure?

Yes. Every customer's data is stored in a completely isolated environment. Your data is never shared with other customers and never accessed by any third party. Each customer gets their own dedicated model instance. You can request full data deletion at any time — and we'll confirm when it's gone.

How long does it take to see results?

Most GCs get their first results within 1-2 weeks — a retrospective analysis showing how the model would have scored every pursuit in their history.

What does a "custom model" mean?

It means the system is trained exclusively on your firm's data. SiteScope doesn't use industry-wide averages or generic benchmarks. The model learns from your specific project history — your project types, your win patterns, your margins, and your team performance — so every recommendation reflects your firm's unique strengths and market position.

How accurate are the predictions?

In our validated case study, the model achieved 86% win/loss prediction accuracy on held-out historical data (vs. ~80% naive baseline of predicting all losses). Beyond win/loss, SiteScope also estimates project profitability and evaluates team-to-project fit — accuracy on these dimensions depends on the depth of your margin and staffing data. Firms with more complete records tend to see stronger results across all three capabilities.

Do I need to change my existing systems or workflows?

No. SiteScope works with data exported from your existing records. There is no software to install, no system changes required, and no IT involvement needed. We work with your data as it exists today.

What types of projects does this work for?

SiteScope works across project types — commercial, institutional, industrial, infrastructure, and residential. The model adapts to whatever project mix your firm pursues, because it's trained on your specific history.

How is SiteScope different from a bid consultant?

Bid consultants provide valuable external perspective and industry expertise. SiteScope provides a quantitative decision engine built entirely on your firm's internal historical data — complementing their insights with hard probabilities based on your track record.

What if my data is messy or incomplete?

Most construction firms don't have perfect data — we're built for that reality. Our system includes a data quality assessment that identifies what's usable, what's partial, and what gaps exist. Even with incomplete records, there's often enough signal to train a useful model. We'll be clear about what your data can and can't support.

How does the model improve over time?

As your firm completes more pursuits and projects, new data flows into the system. The model retrains on your updated history, incorporating fresh outcomes and refining its predictions. The longer you use SiteScope, the sharper it gets.

What's the ROI?

For a general contractor bidding on $2M–$5M projects at 5% margin, one additional profitable win = $100K–$250K in margin. SiteScope pays for itself on the first extra win it helps you capture. Beyond that, reduced bid costs on skipped low-probability pursuits add further savings.
